1). Make use of Presets to start
There was a point at the beginning of my professional career as a photographer when I’d make an effort to edit photos from scratch. While it could be a great way to help you get familiar with the various buttons and sliders in your editing software if you’re still getting started with the basics, it’s not a practical option for editing images, especially when you’re in a situation like mine where I must edit many photos quickly.

3). Make a picture Black and white to highlight Contrasts (or Create a photo that is usable)
Of all techniques for editing photos to convert an image in color into a black and white image is among the most difficult to share as they can expose flaws in the camera’s process in the background. In some cases using black and white may be the only option to use it. This is something I have experienced often and is particularly prevalent during wedding shoots, where I could be shooting continuously for up to 10 hours, and then I dial in the wrong settings for my camera prior to taking an image.

4). Make use of Light room’s Adjustment Brush to remove shadows from Faces
One of the biggest challenges that each photographer encounters at one point or another when shooting outdoors is finding the perfect lighting. It’s sometimes a struggle since no one would like to see their customers staring at the sun.
Other options (such as flashes or a reflector) might not be appropriate for your style of photography or capabilities. Since I don’t want to shoot outdoors with flash whenever I can as using a reflector is difficult with no second set hands, I’ve found myself taking portraits while having the subject’s face in the shadows. When I was in the “old days”, this was a problem. With all the editing I attempted however, I couldn’t seem to find a balance between highlights and shadows of the photo, resulting in a face that washes out to a background that was more exposed or with a face barely apparent as I tried to make it look dark.
5). Reduce Colors That Distract From the Scene
One of the most effective editing tips for photos you’ll hear in the beginning stages of learning how to edit photos is to ensure that you don’t over-saturate the hues. This is a mistake made by beginners that we often make since saturation colors have an enormous impact on the visual appearance of an image. So, with this thought in mind, my best advice is to go with your instincts and move to the other side. Instead of increasing the color intensity by saturation then reduce the saturation of colors when it is logical.
When I shoot, I frequently tend to decolorize the greens while shooting outdoors in areas with lots of greenery in the landscape like you will see with many grasses and trees, as well as shrubs and other such things. The greenery could distract the subject. As it is, desaturation of the image can help us muffle this colour to a lesser degree while letting the focal point of the image stand out in the background.
